Maps of public transportations:
http://www.kvb-koeln.de/german/fahrplan/linienplan.html by Car:
The tournament location is just outside the low emission zone which requires your car to have a fine pollutant LEZ sticker. But to get there you might need to get through the zone, so make sure you have that sticker.
for more information (also in several languages):
http://www.cologne-tourism.com/service/getting-to-cologne/cologne-low-emission-zone.html There is no special parking lot for the location, but I was told there usually is not a problem to find a place to park nearby.
Accomodation:
Holiday In Express Köln Mülheim
At least two of the signed up players will stay there.
http://www.hotel.de/de/holiday-inn-express-koeln-muelheim/hotel-98879/ At least one german player will stay here from saturday to sunday:
http://www.bestwestern-koeln.de/ Both hotels are not nearby, as we had a different tournament location planned.
If you plan to stay at another hotel, let me know so that we maybe get more players to stay there.
12 players will stay at Krügers place:

Start:
First round should start at 10.00 am. at Saturday and Sunday.
I'll try to be there around 9.00 on Saturday to set up tables etc. (all help is welcome!) and I plan to start sign-up at 9.30, so try to get there at least around 9.30 (both days).
Entry fees:
20 EU for advanced players
10 EU for beginners, students and unemployed
free for first time tournament players
Format:
11 rounds swiss system (7 on Saturday, 4 Sunday morning)
25 minutes per player per round.
Best-of-three final and play-off 3rd/4th

Saturday Special:
After the 7 rounds I would like to have most of us going to the Gilden Brauhaus, the restaurant we also used last year.
It is on the other side of the Rhine, so not really close, but at least half of us has to go there anyway.
It’s a large restaurant that doesn't mind us playing for hours.
I expect several cars to go that way and the rest of us can go by public transportation together.

Lunch:
Like the last 2 years, we will order from a delivery service.
To not waste much time getting everyone to choose something, I would like that everyone chooses something for both days in advance. If you change your mind, you can still tell us around sign up time, no problem.
https://pizza.de/pizzeria-toscana-koeln-keupstr-8# (on the popup window just select any district, our district is n’t in there, but that won't be a problem).
At the top you have a big choice, soups, salats, pizza, pasta, fish, indian, chinese, mexican, etc.
Drinks:
As far as I was told, the fee I pay per person includes free cold drinks. So I expect that we will be able to drink water, juice and probably coke for free. There is a cafeteria in the house providing those drinks and offering other stuff.
Souvenir Special:
If you are interested to get a nice souvenir, I can offer to exchange a new official 2-Euro coin for everyone. It has the Cologne cathedral and the year 2011 on it, as it's an official coin you can pay with, its value is at least 2 Euro.
